The Answer To Living A Better, More Satisfying Life Starts Here!

Every Friday, starting July 28th, 2022, I will be taking four questions I receive and provide some insight, answers, direction, suggestions and opening up the conversations for others to help provide answers based on their life experiences. I have created this blog so together we can help each other find ways to cope and live the best lives we can live, to appreciate and enjoy what we have and to explore the many ways we can find happiness.

Since announcing the launch of 65&Older, I have received more than 50 emails from my family and friends and their family and friends. The stories, questions and comments are very similar and that surprised me. It also convinced me that this was a great place to help others.

I'm not an expert at anything. I'm not a doctor. I'm not a lawyer. I'm not a teacher. I'm not a financial consultant. I'm not a professional chef although I've been told my french toast is the best ever!

I am a 69 year old male who has survived two marriages, two children, three grandchildren, congestive heart failure (with an EF of less than 15) and triple bypass surgery, extensive vascular surgeries to help increase the blood circulation in my legs and toe amputations due to type 2 diabetes and an injury that would not heal properly. I take seven pills every morning and four pills every night. By all measures I should probably be dead by now. But I'm not.

I'm presently living in a 55+ community. I walk at least three miles every day, play ping pong and water volleyball twice a week, bike ride at least twice a week (using a pedal assist e-bike), go line dancing, out for meals and the movies and I'm enjoying my life. I love to travel but I really don't like long car rides. I like cruising on small ships. My favorite place is Italy. My favorite island is Virgin Gorda in the British West Indies.

I have so much to be grateful for and I'm looking forward to helping others appreciate what they have and not worry so much about what they don't have. Together we can help each other.

Me and my grandson Owen,

Can I pee in the pond?
I don't think that's a good idea.
Why?
You might pee on the turtle.
I have good aim. I won't pee on the turtle.
Go ask your father.
He won't let me pee in the pond.
You have a good father.
You don't have to tell him.

We laugh.
